Ghana to Host the Value Added Agriculture Expo in August this year.

Building ‘farm to fork’ agricultural capacity, showcasing sustainable and advanced farming solutions

The Value Added Agriculture Expo West Africa will be West Africa’s largest exhibition promoting ‘farm to fork’ solutions in value added agriculture and aquaculture. To be held at the Providence Events and Recreation Centre from 2 - 4 August 2018, the Value Added Agriculture Expo West Africa and co-located Value Added Aquaculture Expo West Africa are supported and endorsed by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

“The Minister of State at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture Hon. Dr. Nurah Gyiele, said the hosting of the event was in line with the President’s policy to modernise agriculture. He reiterated that fact that the Planting for Food and Jobs programme has created 745, 000 jobs and empowered 200, 000 farmers with improvement seed and farming inputs.

Hon Dr Gyiele said, the event to be held in Ghana, stresses the need for value addition, “We must develop value chains that will make all the difference in our earnings for the rich resources of our land. He was positive that the expo would bring out the best in the agric industry and create a solid platform for exchange of ideas, networking among industry players and foster business relationships and partnerships.”

In addition to showcasing the latest solutions, the show will also offer a Live Demo Area and formal training workshops, farmers alike will have an opportunity to learn new practical and  business skills. Farmers will discover new techniques for tractor handling, planting, soil testing, irrigation, crop protection and livestock care.

Technical and business management workshops for Agro Processors will assist the industry to improve production by using the latest equipment, technology and services.
